Contrast Search was created from a very personal appreciation for the people who make medical imaging possible.
After a simple surgery for cancer, I spent five years undergoing follow-up care at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan and New Jersey. Over that period, I went through twelve CT scans with contrast as part of routine monitoring.
I still remember lying on the scanner table and looking up at the little face above me… the character with puffed cheeks reminding patients when to hold their breath.
The technology was impressive. The physicians and radiologists interpreting those images were critical.
But what I remember most were the people in the room.
The imaging professionals and nurses who explained what was happening. Who made an unfamiliar environment feel routine. Who noticed when you were nervous. Who made the experience comfortable, efficient, and human.
They were the people behind the image.
Years later, when I began learning about the workforce shortages facing medical imaging departments, that experience came back to me.
I had already spent years building and refining a recruiting system in another specialized industry — one centered on understanding the role, mapping the talent market, directly approaching qualified professionals, assessing fit, and staying involved through the hiring process.
Contrast Search was created to bring that same disciplined search approach to medical imaging.
